Donald Trump becomes the first American President to meet with North Korea’s Supreme Leader when he traveled to Singapore for a sit down with Kim Jong Un. The two men defied convention when they shook hands, spoke at length and held bilateral talks with staff, ultimately producing a signed joint statement filled with platitudes, but little else.

NBC’s Early TODAY leads off with a special report on the morning’s breaking events – with our White House correspondent on the ground in Singapore, our foreign reporter in Seoul for reaction from South Korea, and our Congressional correspondent on what happens next in Washington.
